Role of radiation therapy in the treatment of ovarian cancer

       Usually radiation therapy does not play a major role in the treatment of ovarian cancer. Some studies have been done. Radiotherapy is often used for the palliative treatment of symptoms from ovarian cancer.   It is especially useful in the treatment of pain due to the progression of ovarian cancer. Radiation therapy is also useful in the treatment of reoccurrences in the brain, chest , and groin.
